When Rain – a dreamy designer – buys an antique cross, she begins to see visions of her previous life in her lucid dreams. A series of accidental events begin to bring the people from her dreams into her real life: Charlie – a quirky girl from the pub, Matt – an aspiring rock star, and Ed – a jaded club owner. If there is something they all share – it’s a burnt down mansion, a small ominous town, and a century-old legend about two crosses.
So, I’m finally getting back into the joy of reading again and I’m excited that today I have a new book review for y’all!!!
Synopsis from Amazon
I, Cassandra Straight, have loved Reed Shamrock to distraction since I was a teenager. I even watched him fall in love with someone else and almost get married.
A year ago, when he walked into his house and found his fiance’s face in his best friend’s crotch, his life changed forever and it hasn’t been the same since.
On his first night out since the horrible incident, we run into the ex-skank. Seeing the devastation in his eyes, I made a promise that I would help him get over her. I told him that a pretend relationship between us would work. It would help him move on.
I didn’t count on my heart or his getting in the way. And I sure as hell didn’t count on not being able to tell when pretend turned to reality. When it all implodes, the only thing left is the truth.
Sometimes though, the truth? It hides and we have to dig deep to find it. To make it come to the surface, we have to give it a little talking to. We have to give it a little Sass.
You get a lot of the story from the synopsis above. This books is about Cassandra “Sass” and her brother’s best friend, Reed Shamrock. Each chapter goes back and forth between Reed’s perspective and Sass’s perspective. Basically, Reed has had his heart shattered when he comes home early from work and finds his fiancee, Lacey, in a rather compromising position with his other best friend, Taylor. Moral of the story: You never know what you are going to find at home when you come home unexpectedly.
The book then fast forwards to one year later and Reed, Sass, and her brother, Justin, are at the bar and they run into “good riddance” aka Lacey and Taylor, who are know a couple. Sass comes up with a plan to pretend that she and Reed are now a couple to make Lacey jealous. Reed, slowly getting over the humiliation of his heartbreak, goes along with it.
Sass’s brother, Justin, knows this isn’t going to end well for his sister and isn’t very supportive of this game that Sass and Reed are playing, but let the games begin between Reed and Sass. Reed and Sass start “dating” but things start to change when Reed realizes that Sass isn’t his best friend’s little sister anymore and the sparks starts to fly between Sass and Reed, but is it real?
When you start a relationship on a lie, you question everything. Is Reed really falling for Sass? Does Sass figure out Reed really isn’t the man of her dreams? Will good riddance ruin any chance for Sass and Reed? You will have to read the book.
I give this book three out of four “parking lots”. (See rating system here). I will say that I did read the book in one night.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ronelle Antoinette was born in Phoenix, AZ and raised in beautiful Colorado. She currently lives in Grand Junction with her husband, two sneaky cats, and one dog-who-believes-he’s-a-person. While she’s a mother to none, she’s an auntie to a small army…the newest recruit joined them in April 2016. Ronelle dabbled in creative writing for many years and even considered it as her major in college. (She ended up getting a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling Psychology.) She published her first novel, Errant Spark, in July of 2016. Dream. Come. True.
Date Like a Girl, Marry Like a Woman: The Polished Woman’s Guide to Love, Romance, and Sex will help you navigate how to have a good time with “Mr. Right Now” and how to hold onto “Mr. Right” once you find him. Providing a mix easy to follow rules, and anecdotes showcasing how they worked (and in some cases what happened when they were ignored), Jessica Bunevacz is the best friend you’ll wish you had all along and the one whose advice you’ll go back to again and again.
Unlike “The Rules”, its successors, or similar books offering guidance on how to snag a man, this book isn’t about playing hard to get, instead it’s about playing to win. And the only way that you can truly to that is when you acknowledge yourself as the MVP. This is why one of the first rules in Date Like a Girl, Marry Like a Woman: The Polished Woman’s Guide to Love, Romance, and Sex is about shedding your insecurities, and why other rules offer insight on looking, feeling, and being your best, with an emphasis on having your own life. Additionally, while other guides stop when you get to a marriage proposal, this is the book you’ll come back to after you say “I do”. Understanding that happily ever after may be a good way to end a movie, but isn’t a good way to start a marriage there are real tips about everything from friendship to sex to finances with both humor and heart.
Ultimately Date Like a Girl, Marry Like a Woman: The Polished Woman’s Guide to Love, Romance, and Sex is a work that is meant to transcend beyond the pages as it’s lessons are applied in daily life. It never asks a woman to shy away from her impulses or to hide who she is or what she wants, and instead celebrates her independence and sensuality while showing her ways that she can make her romantic life more fulfilling.

What is your book about?
A: It is a self help book about love, relationships and sex that focuses on what to do when your dating and what to do once you’ve said “I do.”
There are many self help books about relationships. What makes yours different?
A: Unlike books like “The Rules” or “ How to Snag a man” this book isn’t about playing hard to get, instead its about winning overall in your dating life. Also while other books stop after you get engaged, this is a book that you’ll be able to come back to after you say “ I do”.
What is your next project?
A: I’m working on a companion project, a set of guidelines for men. I want to create a balance so that it’ll be easier for couples to improve their relationships.
In today’s savvy world, most writers use computers or laptap, have you ever written parts of your book in paper?
A: Yes! I always start by writing my thoughts paper then transfer them to the computer.
If you’re a mom writer, how do you balance your time?
A: I don’t write when the kids are at home, so I normally write when they are in school and on the days when I know I wont pick up the kids. So I don’t rush my writing. My times are usually at noon to around 2 pm, and sometimes at night when every one is asleep. I am a night person, I can stay awake for a while at night.
What is the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?
A: Leaving my country, leaving my identity, my job that I worked hard for, for years, to be with my family. It is hard to move to a country without friends, a job and where the dominant language isn’t your native language. I lived in a third world country. There you can easily make money and be happy even if you don’t finish college, you just work hard. Moving here was a little bit intimidating for me, but I’m so happy. I just received my citizenship and now I’m an author. Things happen in our lives that we don’t expect to happen but there’s always a purpose.
What do you get when you mix a strict Catholic upbringing, a strong curiosity for the opposite sex, and the need to grow up quickly? If you’re lucky you get an outcome like Jessica Bunevacz, the vivacious and outspoken first time author behind Date Like a Girl, Marry Like a Woman: The Polished Woman’s Guide to Love, Romance, and Sex.
Born Jessica Rodriguez in the Philippines and raised by her grandparents after the separation of her mother and father, Bunevacz was thrust into the role of provider after the murder of her mother when she was fifteen. With four siblings relying on her she began work early, first as a live mannequin and later as a model, actress, talent manager and television host. The jobs not only helped her to support her siblings, but also her first two children. One of her proudest moments while working in entertainment was as the force behind a project called “Miss Ugly No More” where women were showed how they could feel and look their best. Juggling family and work Bunevacz was not content to simply sit on the sidelines while life passed her by, and dating became her favorite contact sport.
Traveling frequently for work and fascinated by men it wasn’t long before she developed a set of rules to snag them, and guidelines for how she could remain at her best without being bested by the games others were playing. It wasn’t long before she became a self-proclaimed MANnizer, capable of capturing and holding the attention of whoever interested her, while also continuing to do what was in her best interest as both a mother and entrepreneur with both family and a business to protect.
A romantic at heart however she soon stopped her pursuit of “Mr. Right Now” when she met the man who was “Mr. Right”, the man who became her husband. Newly married, she found herself rethinking everything she knew and realized that the same qualities that made a woman an amazing girlfriend didn’t necessarily work for a wife. Rather than wait for someone else to write a marriage manual, she retooled her dating rules for herself to apply for a life after marriage. Jessica Bunevacz is now a happily married wife and mother of three currently residing in California.
While her life has been unconventional she has no regrets, and lives with the understanding that we all have the same basic desire: to feel loved, whether it’s just for one night or for an entire lifetime. Using her own life experiences as a basis she develop real-world relationship advice to help women feel more confident and comfortable whether they’re dating or have already said “I do”.

Who needs a SWAT team to escape from their own wedding? Me.
My Momzilla turned us into hostages at our own ceremony, so Declan and I are getting married the good old-fashioned way, just like everybody else.
By calling in his private security team, stealing away before the ceremony by helicopter, connecting to his corporate jet and heading for Las Vegas.
The Boston wedding of the year is about to become a trashy Elvis drive-thru ceremony.
Until the best man spills the beans and Mom, Dad, my sisters, his brothers, my maid of honor, my friend Josh, and even my cat, Chuckles, all come along for the ride.
I can’t win, can I?
Oh. Yeah. I already did.
Love conquers all.
Even my crazy family.
Shopping for a Billionaire’s Wife is the 8th book in the New York Times and USA Today bestselling Shopping for a Billionaire series. After Declan convinces Shannon to escape from their own wedding minutes before the ceremony begins, the madcap adventures are just getting started. When the mother of the bride pries their location out of the tortured best man, the whole crazy crew follows the bride and groom to Las Vegas in this romantic comedy from Julia Kent.
We are at a private airport I’ve never seen before. The sky is that glorious shade of blue that seems to deepen as you look up, with a smattering of clouds that draw the eye to them. It’s a perfect, idyllic July day in Massachusetts.
A great day for an outdoor wedding.
Declan and the helicopter pilot, whose name I never caught, exchange a few words in Russian before I rib my soon-to-be husband and whisper, “Would you please speak in English?”
He just stares at me with that intimidatingly blank face.
“That doesn’t work, you know,” I tell him with a pointed sneer. Or, at least, I try to sneer. I’m not so good at the sneering thing. That’s more Jessica Coffin’s area of expertise.
He doesn’t twitch a muscle. For whatever reason, he doesn’t want me to know what he and the pilot are talking about. Fine. Fine!
But this alpha-male dominant crap – you know, the stuff I fell in love with him for – is getting on my nerves.
“Declan, please,” I concede.
The exasperated hiss that comes out of me makes my body flush with fury. “It’s our wedding day. I am supposed to be kissing you at the altar right now while the minister pronounces us husband and wife. Instead, I listened to you and went along with this crazy scheme to run off to Las Vegas and leave everyone – everyone! — behind.”
Side note: I know that’s not true. The decision to ditch my mother was mutual. But right now, I have zero leverage, and he’s giving me that granite look like he’s an Easter Island statue, so I have to find some kind of vulnerability in him.
I’m saving sex for the nuclear option.
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge, and new adult books that push contemporary boundaries. From billionaires to BBWs to rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every book she writes, but unlike Trevor from Random Acts of Crazy, she has never kissed a chicken.
