About the Book:
What inspired you to write your first book?
Boys and hormones. I was in middle school when I wrote my first novel, and it was all about every boy I had a crush on at the time. It was pretty lengthy. I was the main character and all of them fell madly in love with me.
How did you come up with the title of this book?
The Soul Summoner was always just a working title because that’s exactly what the main character is—she has the ability to summon and even manipulate the souls of others. By the end of writing book three of the series, I just knew it was the most appropriate title for the book.
What books have most influenced your life most?
I’m an unashamed Harry Potter junkie. And I say it has influenced my life because The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was on the list of pros when my husband and I were deciding our next move. Not that a theme park was the whole reason we wound up in Orlando, but it was a contributing factor.
What book are you reading now?
Today, I’m actually reading a vampire novel–which is completely out of the norm for me. This book is Blood Mother by Tammy Oja, a brand new author. It is still pre-publication, but she has a little of it out on Wattpad. It’s like Sandra Brown meets Underworld. I’m quite impressed so far.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
I wouldn’t change a word of it unless I made it longer. I love those characters like they are my family members and I enjoy hanging out with them quite a bit.
Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Phillippa Gregory is probably the author I admire the most. They rich details she puts into her historical fiction absolutely blows me away. When I read her novels, it’s like a mini-vacation to a different time and place.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
I want to say a big, public THANK YOU to all of my readers for their amazing support this past year as I battled lymphoma. I received messages, cards, and fan art from all over the world and it helped keep me going through some of the worst days of my life.

I absolutely adored this book. I too love the characters and wouldn’t have minded a longer book. 🙂 I also love HP but have never been to Disney. Maybe one day…
Thanks so much for hosting a tour stop!
