In years past, there lived a fierce, handsome warrior named Rogan – as heroic and mighty as any man that ever set foot upon earth. And at long last he found the love to fill his life, in the form of Alicia, the beautiful maiden of his desires.
But all was not to be happy ever after… for there came a villain, possessing supernatural abilities, who brought havoc upon Rogan’s homeland. And in the process of trying to combat the scourge, Rogan found himself banished 500 years into the future – far away from all that he’d ever known or loved.
In this modern day, Rogan stumbles through the dark, gritty alleyways of New York. With no direction and no purpose left in life, he turns to the world of underground fighting where his prowess as a warrior serves him well, making the muscular man an overnight sensation. Though his lost maiden, Alicia, forever lingers on his mind… The scars that will not fade, the memories that will not vanish…
It is not until he manages to join the local police department, that he meets the younger, headstrong girl, Julia Kincaid. She sees his wounded, broken exterior – the pain and sorrow in his eyes, and it is Julia who believes he is worth saving. In her he finds his reason for existing once again…
Yet, as is often the case in love and war, when all the chaos seems to have settled… Rogan discovers there is a chance that he may be able to return home to his original life, all those years ago, to reunite with Alicia.
*CHOOSING HEARTS is a lusty stand-alone romance novel with some scenes of passion, violence, and mature content. Inside you will learn there is happiness in life, but as always, it comes with a heavy price…*
Unfortunately, there was only one review, which was very negative.
Would I buy or pass? Pass
My personal reasons for passing is that this is a historical romance which I am not particularly found of reading. But with there being one review and it was very negative, I almost want to read it to see if it really deserves that kind of rating. Clearly, ratings such as this one can effect a book dramatically. So maybe one of you Historical Romance lovers would want to help the author out?
