MY REVIEW

Amber Aiken-Wood, is a 24-year-old, journalism graduate that has arrived in New York to start her Journalism career. She is originally from Scotland so she has that hot Scottish accent that easily gets her noticed. Amber has an encounter with a co-worker that inspires her to really discover her sexual prowess and she comes up with a blog titled the “Red Hot Bucket List”. This list is a list of things that she wants to accomplish within 12 months.

Through her job and living out this list, Amber gets herself into some precarious risque’ situations. Some of the things that happens to Amber, I found unbelievable. Seriously that situation just happens in every day life? Serendipity, maybe. Amber, by checking of her bucket list, meets a man from her office, who she starts to fall in love with, which I personally thought was a big mistake.

I have to say Amber should play the lottery with the luck that she has in this book. The book is obviously filled with a lot of sex but nothing too outlandish. I liked the way that Amber went from feeling insecure about her body to becoming a woman that owns her body, and that deserves a hell yeah from me!

I give it 3 out of 4 suspenders and knickers!

My review of New Beginnings by KC Richardson

First let me say, and I hate to have to even say this in this day and age, but if you are uncomfortable with Lesbian Romance for whatever reason, this is probably not a review for you. If you do not have a problem with a romance with a same sex couple, please read on.

MY REVIEW

This is the first time I have read a lesbian story, but I enjoyed reading it. The author did an amazing job as the book is very well written, and I easily related to the characters. Jordan, a physical therapist, and Kristen, a Human Resource Manger, Jordan is openly gay and Kristen is in a very unhappy marriage to her husband, John. Kristen and Jordan first formally through a mutual acquaintance.

I could sympathize with Kristen as she was married and didn’t think that she was a lesbian.Jordan having previously been deeply hurt by a past lover was against any relationship that went past one night. Any one that has been hurt in the past can relate to that. After Jordan and Kristen meet, they form a friendship and their relationship naturally progressed.  Jordan’s romantic side was so sweet, and the way they truly loved each other and took care of each other really showed the depth of their love.
I was glad the author including sex scenes as it added to the couples authenticity and showed the passion they have for one another. It is tastefully and authentically written about sex between two women. Had the author left out sex scenes, it would have been a disservice to her readers. For those who think they would be uncomfortable reading about two women, remember 50 Shades of Gray, you can handle it.
I love romance novels, and as I am not gay which really shouldn’t matter, I read the book without any hesitation as every person should be able to love whomever they so chose regardless of sex.

I give it 4 out of 4 “Anam Cara”

My mother is a lesbian and she came out when I was about 17. I have always supported her and loved her no matter what. To me, it doesn’t matter who you love as long as they make you happy. So, mom, I dedicate this review to you. Happy birthday and I love you, your baby girl!!!

My review of Under My Skin by J. Kenner

MY REVIEW

This book is the final of the Stark International trilogy, and it continues the impassioned romance between Jackson and Sylvia. They have arrived back from picking up Jackson’s daughter, Victoria, when he is stopped by police for the murder of Robert Reed, and this is just the beginning of the problems for them. Jackson is losing all control over his life and being the control freak that he is only means one thing: pushing Sylvia away.

I absolutely loved the way Sylvia revolved throughout this book, not only within herself, but with Jackson and Victoria. Jackson, on the other hand, definitely has some anger issues that he needs to work through. But given his father, Jeremiah, I can clearly see why. But then again, Sylvia’s parents are not any better. This may be something that Jackson and Sylvia have in common that will only strengthen their relationship. You know if it is a J. Kenner book, you are not going to be disappointed with the delicious love scenes as seen in this book as well.

I also loved that Damien and Nikki are a part of this book as well.  I became a fan of J. Kenner after reading all four books of the Stark Trilogy, and continue to be a fan after this series as well.

It was the idyllic ending for Jackson, Sylvia and Victoria. It was pure joy to see them become a family even through everything they had to endure to get there but that just makes the ending all more worth the fight.

I give this book four out of four handcuffs.

I would suggest reading all three books, which are all available through Amazon. The first one is Say My Name: A Stark Novel (Stark International Trilogy Book 1). The second book is On My Knees: A Stark Novel (Stark International Trilogy Book 2), and this book is available for pre-order and will be released on September 1, 2015,  Under My Skin: A Stark Novel (Stark International Trilogy Book 3).

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley.

My Review of Stupid Love by Cindy Miles

Bestselling new adult author Cindy Miles is set to capture the hearts of STUPID GIRL fans again with the grand finale of the Stupid in Love series, featuring Memory and Jace.

MY REVIEW

This book had me from “Dear Diary“……….

This book is part of a three part series and can be read as a stand alone. It is the first book that I have read by this author. It tells the love story of Memory Thibodeaux, the “Ragin’ Cajun” and Jace Beaumont, the tall, sexy, green eyed Texan. The story takes place in the “good ole” State of Texas. Memory is a college senior living her life to the fullest with great friends and good times. Jace is a twenty-five year old, hard working, college freshman that is full of determination to succeed in everything that he endeavors (and has quite the stick up his..well, you know) until his world collides with Memory.

Memory is known as a party girl willing to take risk, She has overcome death as a child and is not going to let life live her, she lives life, and does she ever. She is a strong determined woman with a heart of gold and an accent that melts hearts all over Texas.

This book touched me so deeply to my inner core. It had me in tears of laughter, tears of joy, and tears of heartbreak. The author incorporates throughout the book great lines from cult classic movies from the 80’s and 90’s, which I myself will admit I happen to do on occasion.

This book has everything you want in an amazing read. Friendship, love, laughter, tears, friends, family, and changes that come into your life that you never thought possible. It is a story you will not easily forget as it speaks to your heart, teaches you something, and reminds you how precious life truly is.

My Review of It’s A Match! A Guide To Finding Lasting Love by Natalie Moore, MsEd, MFT, ChT,

unnamedKeeping with my theme from the last book I reviewed, this is another different read and book review for me. However, I will admit that after my divorce a few years ago, I did read a lot of these types of books.

MY REVIEW

What I liked about this book is that is it written by someone with credentials. Ms. Moore has a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is also a successful relationship coach. In her book, Ms. Moore talks about the “4 Levels of Love”, Different Relationship Levels, and how to find a, Level III or Level IV, lasting satisfying relationship. It also teaches how to deal with your emotional baggage first before pursuing another relationship. The author also provides a lot of helpful information for online dating and how to set up your profile, things to say/do, and things to look for that are red flags. An added bonus with Ms. Moore’s book is that she just does not stop at once you have met a potential partner, but goes further with reiterating what you are taught in the beginning of the book once you have meet someone.

I would recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a new relationship, or even just starting a new relationship, as well.

You can get a copy from Amazon It’s a Match! The Guide to Finding Lasting Love. Subscribers to Amazon Unlimited can read it for free.

I give it 3 out of 4 cupids.
