This was a different read for me but as I suffer from GAD I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and review something a little different. This book is about stress and anxiety, its effects on our mind and bodies, and how to manage and reduce stress. It is a relative easy read and contains some medical research but it is written in a way that a layperson can understand it. It is christian based book and does include a lot of reference to scripture. Also, this book has discussion questions at the end for a group study.
Even if you are not a religious person, there are still several benefits to this book. There are tests in the book to determine your level of stress and your child’s level of stress (which I found personally beneficial), ways to reduce stress (not just praying) and helpful ways to handle stress that are also not religious based. Therefore, I think believers and non-believers would benefit from this book.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with the opportunity to review this book free of charge.
This book will be available from Amazon on August 1, 2015, but is available for pre order now.
